R&D Nester in PHOTOVOLTAICA 2016
O R&D Nester will be present in the second edition of Photovoltaica - International Solar Energy Exhibition & Conference, one of the most important exhibitions in energy sector that will be held in Casablanca, Morocco, from 7 to 9 September. This year Africa is a guest of honor, with the participation of countries from sub-Saharan Africa.
Nuno Souza e Silva, Managing Director of REN and State Grid's Research and Development Centre R&D Nester, classifies the participation in this Exhibition as "an excellent opportunity to make known to the Moroccan market the activity of R&D Nester and also to show the developed work in different areas of electrical systems, such as planning, interconnections, power system operation and renewable energy integration." These are issues that Nuno considers that are "particularly relevant for both Morocco and Portugal, so we feel that R&D Nester can make a significant contribution in these areas."
Rui Pestana, Project Leader, will be representing R&D Nester in these three days of Exhibition "to make known the work that we have developed in four areas of particular relevance, in particular, power grid renewables integration, intelligent substations, networks with energy storage and power systems simulation."
According with Nuno Souza e Silva, this participation in the 2nd edition of Photovoltaica Exhibition is the perfect platform to promote the innovative work that R&D Nester has been developing in different areas, and he highlights some: "We think that both Renewable Integration and Future Substation projects will be especially interesting for this market as well as the services that R&D Nester can provide at the level of laboratory testing, renewable production forecasting and storage management tools, among others. "
For R&D Nester's Managing Director expectations are high: "We have a research team that includes professionals from REN and CEPRI (China Electric Power Research Institute), all highly experienced, multidisciplinary and multicultural as well as a network of partnerships with prestigious universities, at national and international level, all decisive factors to claim the potential of R&D Nester and to place itself as a partner in its different research areas."
Photovoltaica 2016 is organized by the Kingdom of Morocco and aims at promoting the renewable energy sector by joining in a single forum researchers, enterprises, service providers and other entities and national and international agencies for the sector development, particularly in the photovoltaics field in Morocco and Africa.
