REAL-TIME SIMULATION - R&D NESTER AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER AND TECHNICAL VISIT HOST IN RT23’S OPAL-RT EVENT
R&D Nester owns a real-time power systems laboratory that is used in many of its national and international projects that is based on OPAL-RT solutions for real-time simulation.
OPAL-RT's 15th annual conference on real-time simulation was held in Lisbon, from November 13th to 16th.
RT23 featured a range of hands-on workshops, keynotes and technical sessions covering a wide range of topics including power systems, energy conversion, eMobility, and more.
Recently R&D Nester was the partner selected by OPAL-RT to showcase its most recent Success Story with the title "HIL Simulation for the Substation of the Future".
This nomination allows to discover how R&D Nester is shaping the future of power systems simulation and renewable energy management with the help of OPAL-RT's real-time solutions. R&D Nester's Real-Time Power Systems Simulator (RTPSS) Laboratory is providing a unique research and simulation infrastructure to analyze the behavior of different components of power systems.
Within the scope of this collaboration, and with the OPAL-RT event taking place this year in Lisbon, R&D Nester was involved in this event's agenda.
Nuno Souza e Silva, Managing Director of R&D Nester, was a keynote speaker on the 3rd day of the event, with the presentation entitled "Real-Time power systems simulation - current uses and future challenges".
The last day of the event was dedicated to technical visits for the participants. R&D Nester received over 100 visitors in its Laboratory. During these visits, R&D Nester's team of researchers made presentations, demonstrations and examples of how the Laboratory works.
These technical visits allowed visitors to discover how R&D Nester is using OPAL-RT's real-time solutions in several projects in areas such as smart grids, renewable energy, energy markets, communication networks and interoperability. R&D Nester's Real-Time Power Systems Simulators (RTPSS) Laboratory provides a unique research and simulation infrastructure to analyze the behavior of different components of power systems.
